In Christ Alone.

i know, i know...3 posts in a row..crazy. i have just had alot of thoughts/songs/lessons/ideas going through my head. and i dont really journal..so this is all i have. :) maybe i should start journaling..haha. but anywho, today in chapel we sang one of my favorite songs ever! i have learned to love it even more this year, and i think i can say it is my favorite christian song by far! i love just meditating on what the words mean. the song goes like this:

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save

‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again

And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt of life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

wow!!!! that is all i can say. i cant even pick out a favorite part of that song! that whole thing is just stinking awesome. and what's even so much more amazing to me is the fact that every word of that is true!!! and i know it full well in my heart! although i wont say this part is my favorite i do love the stanza that says "no guilt in life, no fear in death. this is the power of Christ in me! From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny!" that line just reflects so much what Jesus has been tugging on my heart recently. mainly that part that says this is the power of Christ in me! it has NOTHING to do with me! it has everything to do with the power HE put in me. another thing...Jesus commands my destiny. as much as i want for my destiny to be one way, i have realized that his way is far better.

gosh. i love this song. i think i could go on and on about how i love each verse...but i will leave you all with these refections for the evening. :)

ohhhhh. 2 more day of real classes. i cant believe it.

Dear Lord..

Take my heart, I Lay it down
At the feet of you whose crowned
Take my life, I’m letting go
I lift it upto You who’s throned
And I will worship You, Lord
Only You, Lord
And I will bow down before You
Only You Lord
Take my fret, take my fear
All I have, I’m leaving here
Be all my hopes, be all my dreams
Be all my delights, be my everything

Freshman Year Countdown. What?

so i am officially done with my freshman year of college in 11 days [8 school days].

what? it seems like yesterday we were packing up the van and the honda with my stuff and coming here. i remember exactly how i was feeling like it was yesterday. never in a million years did i expect to have such an amazing year! i have made so many amazing friends that i know will be there for me for the rest of my life! God has taught me so so so so much! i cant even begin to explain how much i have grown. he has stretched my faith this year in many ways. i can say now without a singe doubt in my mind that i serve a sovereign God!

my brain is also alot bigger after this year. :) corban has done a wonderful job of stuffing my brian with information. but what i am so thankful for is that it is great information. i remember posting at the beginning of the year and saying how funny it was that the pastors daughter knew nothing about the bible. well, now i do!! for real. im not saying that i know everything, but wayyyy more then i knew before! i can tell you who wrote hebrews, i can tell you the difference in historical premillennialism, amillennialism, postmillennialism, and dispensational premillennialism, and i can tell what i think the bible says about if we can lose our salvation or not. so yeah, there ya go. :) thats what im paying all this money for, i think im okay with it...ahaha. like im paying for it. [thanks parents]

but anyways...this post doenst really have a point, as you can see, i am just rambling. but i really do feel so blessed by this year! the Lord has shown me so many things about who he is, and who i am in him! something i would not have experienced the way i did anywhere else. so, anyone ever considering corban...come!!!! its well worth it. :) i have loved it here. and Lord willing [something i have learned to say this year. :)] i cant wait to come back next year!

now i have to study for finals...boo.

If Women Controlled the World...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

so my mom sent me this rediculous email with picutres of things that could possibly be invented if women controlled the world. this one was my favorite. some of you might not know this, but i recieved my first speeding ticket about 2 weeks ago. it was not good. haha. lets just say that i was going "hold on" when i should have been going "bit scary".. too bad one of these things couldnt have been around. you know what i would really like to see? maybe a car that completly STOPPED if you were going over the speed limit. :) or atleast beeped annoyingly until you slowed down or something...yeah. i like that idea. someone invent it.
